Holy Cod!

This 16”x20”x1.5”, acrylic, professional level three, gallery wrapped canvas is called, Holy Cod! Newfoundlanders often use this phrase to express wonder and astonishment when someone sees a large or remarkable sized cod fish. The cod moratorium in 1992, seemed to be a death sentence to Newfoundland’s treasured fishing industry. Thankfully, June 2024, promised a revival of the most holy cod fishery. Sometimes, one doesn’t realize the value of something until it’s gone. This is certainly the case with the renewed excitement over “Holy Cod!”
