The Dory

This 16”x20”x1.5”, acrylic, professional level three, stretched canvas is called, The Dory. Though simple in its design, the dory is great in its significance to the Newfoundland fishery. It was a crucial tool for inshore and offshore fishing, a means of transportation between communities, and even served as lifeboats on larger vessels. The dory is still built and used by many Newfoundlanders to this present day.
